Winter Haven, Fl is smack dab in the middle of what used to be Florida’s Orange Belt. So there are lot of opportunities for fresh fruits and vegetables. However, the economic troubles of the last few years that laid Cypress Gardens low have also had an effect on local restaurants. There is a lot of hope that construction crews will herald a return to profitability for many locations near Legoland Florida.
Perkins Restaurant and Bakery – There is a Perkins located almost directly across from the main entrance of the park. This is a popular place to eat breakfast or dinner before or after the days fun.
Ruby Tuesdays – Even closer to the park is Ruby Tuesday, known for their burgers, but recently offering more fish and steak options as well. The salad bar is good sized and my favorite part of the Ruby Tuesday experience.
Blue Sapphire Sushi – The first thing you’ll notice is that this is a real lounge experience. From the pool table to the lush sparkly table tops. The sushi has a local flare and gets good marks from the local paper as well.
