Legoland Florida is located approximately midway between Orlando and Tampa. It’s about 60 minutes driving from either metro area. The park is located just off Cypress Gardens Blvd in Winter Haven, in Polk County.
You’ll need a car to visit Legoland; it’s too far to take a taxi. The only exception might be the $10/person LEGOLAND shuttle, which offers a once-daily run from Orlando Premium Outlets (see details below).
Parts of the drive after leaving the Interstate may appear rural, with undeveloped wilderness on either side of the road. Amenities such as gas stations, fast food chains, and drugstores will nonetheless appear commonly on both sides of the street. A Wal-Mart is just east of LEGOLAND on Cypress Gardens Blvd (closer to Interstate-4 on Hwy 27, a second Wal-Mart also includes a supermarket section.)

CAR RENTALS
With over 50 million visitors per year, Orlando is the top worldwide market for rental cars. Most are rented from the Orlando International Airport. Here is a list of the rental car companies that operate out of OIA. Some of these companies will arrange to transport you from your hotel to finalize paperwork and pick up the car.
If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, you can arrange to rent from Alamo or National, both of which operate on-property rental offices. Check with the front desk of the hotel for details.
